Saturday with Friends

Last Saturday we spent a few fun hours with our good friends, Glen and Ivi.  They moved out of the ward a couple years ago, and we haven’t seen them much since.  But they are more like family, and we really missed them. After all, they actually lived with us for a couple of months! So it was nice to finally hang out with them again and have some fun.

We decided to walk over to our favorite grill spot and have lunch.  The kids were so excited to take a walk with Brownie, their adorable Chihuahua. Some of us rode bikes, some of us walked, and Ivi drove over with all of the food in the car.

The fire was quickly assembled, and we even used some of the wood I had cleared out of my craft room.  What we didn’t use, I ended up leaving on the pile for the next person to use.  We didn’t wait for coals, but threw the sausages on right away. 🙂  Hey, we were hungry!  They turned out perfect. In fact, they were so good, Sarah couldn’t resist and actually ate her first sausage in years. And just because we’re eating outdoors, doesn’t mean we can’t be refined. No gnawing off food from the end of a stick for us! 🙂  These tin plates are one of the most useful things I have ever purchased.  They have definitely paid for themselves a few times over.

The weather was gorgeous, albeit a bit cool.  But if we didn’t stay in the shade for too long, it wasn’t so bad.  Towards the end it warmed up quite a bit, and we were glad for the shade!  We were hoping to go back to the house and play a game or two, but Ivi’s back was starting to ache, so we decided not to push it.  The kids hope they can come back very soon, and bring their new best friend, Brownie.Sarah was always the least afraid of dogs, of all the kids.  But this dog is such a cute, tiny little furball, everyone cuddled up to it eventually. Thanks for a great day guys!
