Chris turned 41 on this way cool date. Unfortunately, we only saw him for a short time in the morning, as he had to work and then go directly to church meetings until late that night. Knowing this would happen ahead of time, we celebrated on Monday.
The kids were asking what present we were giving him and I told them that Papa was going to by himself a very nice gift in a few months. He was waiting for a special something and was already saving up the money for it. They didn’t like that idea at all. No, he needed something to unwrap today! So the kids all made him little presents and cards, which he always loves and displays in his office upstairs.
He requested crepes for dinner and apple cake, of course! I also cleaned the bathrooms even though it was ahead of the regular cleaning schedule since I know how much he loves a sparkling sink. I even sat next to him while he watched some show that I can’t remember because only he really liked it and I didn’t moan, act bored, or get up and leave once! And that was all it took to make him feel loved and cared for on his awesome day. How lucky am I, that he’s so easy! 🙂
In fact, we did such a great job making him feel special that for a few moments he was a bit confused as to why his mom hadn’t called yet to wish him a happy birthday. And then he remembered that it wasn’t his actual birthday yet, so she still had time to call! heehee
