Halloween Feast!

This year we invited the missionaries over for our annual Halloween feast!  We served bloody fingers (hot dogs), animal guts (chili), Jello pumpkins, ghosts and witches, tossed salad, and for dessert we had dirt and worms!(chocolate pudding with crushed Oreos and a gummy worm).

Sophie also helped me make a Frankenstein and Dracula box to hold the treats we gave to the Elders.  Aunt Marcie brought over so much delicious American candy, that even after the carnival, we had still had tons left over.  So we shared a bit with those who we knew would appreciate it. 🙂  (In fact, there was so much candy, that two months later, as I am writing this post, we still have a bunch!)

That night we all gathered in the living room for our favorite Halloween story.  We tell it every year, so it isn’t really scary to the older ones anymore, but it isn’t Halloween without it.  We couldn’t find the paper it was written on last year, and the kids were sad about it for months.  So I was super excited to find it while cleaning out the bookcase a few weeks ago.  Hurray Halloween is saved! 🙂

Nick gathered all the supplies needed for the sound effects, and then we lit the candles in the fireplace while I told the story.  It was a perfect ending to a fun celebration.
