We had a great time watching cousin Charlotte while her parents went to Salzburg for 3 days. She is just such a cutie pie and very, very entertaining. I could tell right away, however, that I was definitely out of baby mode. This wasn’t a bad thing, it made me appreciate my slightly older children and truly embrace this new phase of my life. But I also realized that I was going to need a bit of help to keep this active toddler safe! So I told Sarah and Sophie that I would pay them 5 Francs each for every day that they helped me with Charlotte. Sophie especially grabbed on to this money making opportunity as she has been saving for a certain Barbie for a few months now, and is only halfway there.
They kept her entertained, kept her safe, and stayed quiet while she took her nap every day. Nicholas helped a lot, as well. I am fortunate that my children all love babies. They would rather have a baby to play with than other kids their own age, I think. Anyway, it was a great three days, minus the diaper changing. I for sure DON’T miss that. haha!
Alexandra got a bit jealous of all the attention Charlotte got from the other kids by the end, but for most of the time she loved having someone smaller to control. 🙂 And they had lots of fun being silly together.
