Hairbows!

None of my children are born with hair.  Well, actually, Sarah had a bit of hair right at the beginning, but it always falls out completely, and then they are bald for the first couple years of life.  Alexandra is now three, has never had a haircut, and her hair is just barely past her ears on the sides.  Basically, she looks like a boy, a very pretty boy. 🙂

Her friend, Chloe, also has pretty short hair, although a bit longer than Lexi’s.  Her mom always puts it in these adorable pig tails right on top of her head, and accessorizes with big flowered barrettes.  I love it! So for several weeks, I have been trying to convince Alexandra to let me do the same thing. “Don’t you want a cute ponytail like Chloe’s?”  “Why don’t we do your hair like Chloe’s? Won’t that be so pretty?”  She always turns me down.

But it’s me, so I keep on hoping, and keep on asking.  She hasn’t let me put in a ponytail yet, but she has consented to wearing clips in her hair.  Maybe it helps that I hung them up tantalizingly in this cute pink frame in the bathroom where she sees them all the time?  I think so!  She also likes being able to pick them out herself.  Cuz it’s all about the independence at this age.  Tada!
