5 Saturdays in a row!

Having 4 kids in school means that I am committed to a pretty rigid schedule during the week.  I don't mind it.  It keeps me motivated, doing stuff, and I am certainly NEVER bored.  Having to have lunch on the table no later than 12:30 every day may cut my morning lounge time short, but really, who needs to be hanging out on the computer 4 hours a day anyway?  Certainly not me.  And part of what makes me appreciate the tight schedule even more, is the ability to throw it to the wind every time there is a school holiday.  And with year round school, the holidays come pretty regularly. :)  So I never really have the chance to burn out, and that is good news for everyone.

This year, the kids got 3 days of school off, Green Thursday, (I have no idea why it is called that), Good Friday, (also no idea why they call it that, lots of bad, sad stuff happened that day, but whatever), and then Easter Monday.  It used to strike me as kind of funny that this would be a national holiday, I mean, seriously, Easter is OVER and they still keep right on celebrating.  But now I just nod my head, smile, and say "Yeah!  Extra day of vacation!"  Since Easter happened to fall on General Conference weekend, that meant that Sunday was like a Saturday, too.  No need to get dressed up and go to church, no class to teach, no talks to prepare, no nothing, but sit around and watch it on the Internet.  It was definitely a much needed break.

Thursday wasn't a day off for Chris, but he always works from home on Thursdays, so he was there and able to hang out with us more than usual that day.  I had the kids clean their rooms nicely, so they could have the rest of the weekend to mess them up again, and that was pretty much all we did.   They stayed in their pajamas until lunch time, played some Wii, and just had a great day.  There was even a bit of snow falling in the morning, to make the day extra special.
