Kindergarten Sleepover

The second to last Thursday of the school year, Sophie got to do something super exciting and fun; sleep over at Kindergarten!  Nicholas and Sarah had done it previous years, and she has been looking forward to her turn for a while now.  All the second year kindergartners came to the classroom just before dinner time.  They dropped off their sleeping bags and pajamas and went outside to play.  I wanted to get some snaps of her bed and sleeping spot, but she wasn't ready to set it up yet.  But here she is playing outside on the playground.

These are her teachers, Frau Buchmann and Frau Kaspar.

The kids had a typical Swiss dinner; bread, and cheese and meat slices to go on it.  They also had "G'schwellti" or boiled potatoes and water to drink.  For dessert, they took a walk up to some benches in the nearby forest and had Princess popsicles.  Then they changed in to their jammies, Frau Kaspar read a couple stories, and they all settled down to sleep.  The next morning, the first years came and they all had breakfast together.  They got out two hours early, which is smart of the teachers.  Get those overtired kids home before they start having fits!

What a fun memory for the children.  I hope Noah and Alexandra will also get to participate when they are old enough.
