Celebrate the love

Friday morning I got to start my Valentine's celebrations early.  Julie S. and Julie R. hosted a Valentine's brunch for a bunch of us ladies in the ward.  It was so much fun, and I hope it becomes a yearly tradition.  Everyone brought something delicious to share and we ate ourselves crazy and then chatted and laughed as usual whenever we get together.  Of course, I arrived late, having driven past the house 6 times before actually finding it.  (That GPS can seriously NOT get here soon enough.)  Noah went straight upstairs to play with the other kids who were there and Alexandra and I went to the dining room with all the other lovely ladies.  Fortunately, they had just barely started, so we didn't miss much.

There was a serious feast, fit for a fancy hotel brunch.  I cannot believe some of the talented, gifted ladies I have surrounding me.  Breakfast burritos with homemade sausage, salsa and tortillas.  Crispy, golden waffles that I didn't even bother putting syrup on because they were perfect just the way they were.  Fruit salad that had pretty much everything in it, including my very favorite, pomegranites. Fresh croissants with delicious heart shaped cheese on the side. Nice hot wassail and a delicious, slightly bubbly cold juice drink to balance it out.  Fruit muffins, whipped cream to put on whatever you wanted, raspberry tiramisu and heart-shaped frosted sugar cookies to complete the sugar coma.  I am sure I am forgetting something. It was all so good.

And as if that weren't enough, Julie sent us home with the table decorations, lovely littled potted petunias!  I only hope I can keep them alive until spring.  They are too pretty to die the horrible, tragic death most of my plants suffer. Sorry, no pictures of the event.  I brought my camera, but was too busy eating and laughing to take any pictures. :(
