Stomach Flu Blues

Friday night, Alexandra threw up.  A lot.  It just kind of started out of nowhere, and went on until about 1:am. We figured out that her tummy would make this strange gurgling noise about 10 seconds before the actual act.  It only took me two shirts and a half a head of hair to discover this helpful tip.  The next day she seemed okay, except for the nasty diapers she was making.  We thought it was over by Sunday, and we all went off to church feeling great.  We were thankful it was over quickly and put it down to eating something that didn't agree with her.  Oh, how wrong we were.

Sunday late afternoon, just after the main birthday festivities, Sarah decided to start tossing her cookies, well, carrots.  We will never look at carrots the same way again.  She even threw up while emptying the dishwasher of the clean dishes.  Fortunately, she was mostly done, and we only had to rewash a few.  The bulk of it went in the compost.  How appropriate.  Later that evening, Noah decided to join the fun.   I got up once every half an hour or so, until 3:00 am.  At 2 am, we heard Alexandra crying.  Apparently, she had one last throw up in her as well. Good times.  Monday morning, I slept in for a while, and Chris helped Nick and Sophie get off to school.  He came in about 9:00 and handed me the phone to call Sarah's teacher to tell her she was sick.  He was still home, because, well, I am sure you can guess why, can't you?  I was so out of it, I told the principal that both Sarah AND Sophie were home sick.  When Sophie came home from school, she told me that for some reason Herr Langenegger came to tell her teacher she was home sick, "But I was right there!"  Yes, silly tired Mommy.

After 10 loads of laundry, all bedding and pajamas were returned to their proper places, and we are hoping for no encore performances tonight.
