This occurred in the car coming home from Jucker Farms today. We are in downtown Zurich going to pick up Chris from work.
Sarah: "Mom, why are you stopping? Why didn't you follow the hurry up sign?"
Me: "What do you mean? The light turned yellow, so I slowed down and stopped."
Sarah: "I thought that meant hurry up."
Me:"No, the light turns yellow to warn you that it's going to turn red so you can slow down and get ready to stop."
Sarah: "How do you know that? Papa told me it means to hurry up."
Me: "Well, when you learn how to drive, they teach you all the rules so you can be safe. That is one of them."
A few minutes later, I hear this from the back seat…
Sarah: "So when you're older who are you going to listen to, the teacher or Mom?"
Sophie: "The teacher."
Sarah: "Yeah, me too."
