Chicken "Pops"

Saturday morning Sarah woke up complaining that her leg was itching.  She pulled up her pajama bottom to show me, and lo and behold, it was the chicken pox.  Sophie didn't have any on her, but she had several in her.  She couldn't swallow and kept saying that there was something in her throat.  Poor thing got chicken pox inside.  We called the parents of the 6 kids we had been playing with on Friday to inform them of our highly contagious state.  Fortunately, they had all had chicken pox or the vaccine already.  Whew!  My guilty conscience was appeased.

We kept all the kids home from church on Sunday since we weren't sure where/when the girls had contracted it.  I was fully expecting Nick and Noah to break out as well, and didn't want to get the entire ward sick.  I did go, just to teach my Primary class and mentioned why the kids were all at home.  One of the moms decided that she wanted her kids to get it, so we made plans for them to come over and play.  They came today, so hopefully they will be able to get nice and infected. haha

We finally sent Nick to school today, since I called and talked to the nurse and she said if he didn't have spots already, it could be another week to two weeks before he gets them.  Which means he may be sick right in the middle of Lance and Heather's visit. :(  But the good news is, at least they aren't all sick at the same time.  And Noah is loving having the girls' home to play with in the mornings.

Two other big events happened this weekend.  Alexandra is officially crawling now, although slowly and cautiously, and she is sporting two new teeth.  They have broken through the gums and look so adorable there in her mouth.  I will take a picture when they stick up a bit more.  Right now you have to hold her tongue back with one finger, and pull her lip down with the other to even see them, but at least the worst is over.

Wow Amy! That really sucks. I vividly remember having chicken pox when I was a kid. We all got it at the same time (there were only 5 of us then) and I don't know how my mom did it. We took a lot of baking soda baths. Give your kids a big hug from us. I hope it's all over soon!
