Sophie’s actual birthday was a bit restrained this year. She wanted to have her party on Wednesday afternoon, after her birthday. So in a way, the celebration went on for three days. 🙂 She didn’t have to do any chores, as usual, and she got to be the center of attention twice!
Sophie loves raclette, which is traditionally a cold-weather food, but what the birthday girl wants, the birthday girl gets. So raclette in the heat of August it was. At least she chose banana splits instead of cake for dessert. Mmmhhmm, hot fudge sauce…
We waited to open presents until Papa got home from work. And even though she had picked out some of them in America, she was still excited to unwrap them. Hurray, Aladdin!
And Alexandra asked me to help her make a present for Sophie. So we crafted this bracelet together.
Then, so she could have another couple of surprises, I gave her a set of scissors of her very own. She loves to craft, and now she doesn’t have to borrow my scissors anymore.
To make sure everyone knew they were her special scissors, I made some little charms with Shrinky Dink plastic and stamps to attach to the handles. She loved them. I am so blessed to have one daughter that looks like me, and one that acts like me. 🙂
Happy birthday, Sophie!
