More pics from Conference weekend

This was on our walk over to the Badgers last Sunday.  Noah inherited Nicholas’ old bike.  It worked fine for a while.  But lately, every time he rides it, the chain falls off after a few minutes.  We got about halfway to the Badgers and it fell off again.  I pulled the bike for quite a ways, but it kept banging me in the back of the legs.  Ouch!  So Noah gallantly offered to push it himself.  But it was hard work, and he would so rather be riding it!  Chris came to meet us, (having driven over with all the food and utensils) and snapped this picture of one very sad Noah.

We are looking at different bike shops to find him a new one, by the way. It has to meet several different criteria, and most bike shops here are very small and only have one or two different models to choose from.  Which means lots of driving around and looking.  So he will get a new bike soon, just not today. 🙂

This is a small stretch of the forest I love to run through in the mornings.  The only downside is all the dog owners who ignore the clearly posted signs about keeping Rover on a leash at all times.  I have finally started just calling out to them as I run by, “Dogs need to be on a leash!” and tack on a simpering sweet smile.  And if I actually see one on a leash, I always smile real big at the owner and say thank you.  But other than that, it’s a really pretty run and I feel so lucky to have such a gorgeous path literally right outside my front door.

Noah stayed outside while I finished cooking lunch.  He was a bit tired from all the bike riding/walking, but still wanted to enjoy the sunshine and warm weather.  So he just read on the bench instead.  He has a beautiful tan on his face to show for it.  And it’s still early April!!!  So nice after a cold winter.

Poor Noah! What a good sport he is. Here it is still snowing off and on. Your children are growing up and changing so much, we are glad you are coming here in July. Pretty soon we will barely recognize them! We enjoy reading your blog. You do a great job keeping it up. By the way, how is the construction coming across the way?
