Good Friday was the start of Easter/Spring vacation for the kids. Chris also had the day off of work. The weather was absolutely gorgeous, so he decided to go out on a bike ride with Nick. The original plan was to ride up with him to school so he could feel comfortable riding by himself for piano lessons. But once they got out there, they decided to take the scenic route and explore some of the many trails we have near our house. Some go through the forest, some go down to the lake, some go through farmers' fiields, and some do all three. You can ride for hours and never go on an actual road. We are so blessed.
When they came back home, over an hour later, they were both smiling and happy. Nick can't wait to go on another long ride with Papa, and now the girls want to come, too. I am so excited, I would love to take the kids biking all over Europe, this is the start!
This was taken from the forest trail behind our house, looking down on to it. Our apartment is the top two floors. We have the best of both worlds; close neighbors to borrow an egg from (I have done that more than once), but lots of green and open spaces to run around in. I told Chris even if something happened to him, I still wouldn't want to leave and go back to the US. I just love it here so much.
