On Sunday, Alexandra turned "dooh!"
Since she is too young to tell me what her favorite meal is we decided for her. She usually enjoys spaghetti, so that is what we cooked for her; sauce optional as always. She loved opening her presents, and was actually able to do it herself this year. She played with each gift for a bit before the other kids couldn't stand it anymore, and shoved the next one into her hands to open. One of the first presents she opened was the xylophone from my mom. She immediately started banging out quite an intricate tune, and beamed when everyone clapped for her. Being the baby really does have it's advantages. A built in audience that thinks everything you do is absolutely brilliant and adorable!
She decided that the opening of each new present first required a musical intro. So she would grab her xylophone, tapped out a few notes, set it aside, pick up the new present and open it, play with it a bit, then one of the kids would hand her a new one, so she would set it down, pick up the xylophone, etc. Like I said, totally maddening to the older children who were so excited to find out what was in all those packages.
After presents, we had the traditional oatmeal birthday cake. Alexandra was super excited to blow out the candles, and started puffing before I could even set down the cake!
I think they went out so fast from the "moist breath" she used. heehee. But the kids ate the cake regardless of what extra toppings it had acquired, and Alexandra reveled in all the extra attention. Happy Birthday, Sweet Baby!
