Four Fairy Party

Alexandra wanted to have a fairy party this year.  It was so much fun to plan for, and she and her guests were so excited by everything, it totally made it all worth it!  She invited all her friends from church, and our neighbor girl that she plays with all the time.  They were all able to come, so we had four fairies and one brownie for tea in our fairy tent. While they ate, I read them the story of the original fairy, Princess Lillifee!  They listened to every.single.word.  So cute. And of course, food and drink always taste better when it’s served on little plates! Too bad the hand-dipped pink chocolate strawberries weren’t such a hit.  Or maybe that’s a good thing, because then Nick and I got to eat them? 🙂  Still looked pretty, though.

And of course, we turned off all the regular lights and turned on the fairy lights! It would have looked even better if we had shutters on the balcony windows to block out more light,  but it was still impressive to four year olds. 🙂

I had the cake out on the table as part of the decorations as well.  Thank you Family Fun Magazine for the awesome idea and tips. The main activity of the party was finding the decorations for, and constructing, a fairy house.  I gave them each a fancy bag and then we went outside to find the bits and bobs I had hidden in the grass previously. There were seashells, buttons, silk flowers, beads and a few other miscellaneous things.  They all found tons, but I have a feeling there were a few things left in the grass for the real fairies to find later. 🙂

Aren’t they just so precious in their fairy costumes?    We came back inside and they got to decorate the little fairy houses to take home as the party favor. Each child also got a fairy flower wand to take home as well.  I think the houses ended up looking really good.  Alexandra’s is now on the balcony, in case a fairy ever wants to use it.

After the fairy houses were finished, we went back to the tent for present time. All the presents were just her style, but there was one she was super excited about, a new Barbie! And not just any Barbie, one from the latest Barbie movie.  She had even asked me for that one when she saw it in the store, and I had told her she already had enough Barbies.  So it made it even special when she got it anyway.  Thank you, Chloe and Jessi! After all the kids, excuse me, fairies and brownie had gone home, there was just time to clean up and get ready for present time with the family.  And then I got to decorate for Sophie’s puppy party the next day.  See why I couldn’t blog?  Cuh-Razy!

There was also enough fairy village cake leftover for us to blow out candles a second time.  Happy birthday, Alexandra!  We love you!
