There was a huge snowfall a few days before Christmas. I was really excited that we would have a gorgeous white Christmas to enjoy. But then the rain came down, and the snow went away. But at least we are in Switzerland, where the grass stays green under the snow. So it wasn't an ugly brown Christmas, either. But then a couple of weeks later, we got a ton of snow, and it pretty much hasn't gone away since. There will maybe get to be a few patches of grass poking through the snow here and there, the drive way will actually get completely clear. But the farmer's field behind us, and the hill next to us, have been pretty much snow covered for a solid month now. The kids are in heaven.
After the first really big snowfall, the kids went outside and stayed out there almost the entire day. I coaxed them in for lunch, but then they went right back outside again. They stayed out there so long, they actually turned into snow monsters. No, really, here is the proof!
But before the snow ate them, they also managed to make some snowlumpmen,
and a cool snow fort.
The snow was powdery and dry and didn't stick together very well. Looks gorgeous, hard to play with. But they did their best.
